SQL Server Development with Agentic AI.

Coding agents can take on tasks in database development. They need useful context and a clear assignment. The result needs technical review, tests and a look at the actual workload.

We are preparing this format. Content, duration and the first session are still to be agreed.

  • Formulate tasks
Describe agent tasks for T-SQL and database development, and set context and boundaries.
  • Check code
Review generated code for technical correctness and test it with relevant counterexamples.
  • Assess impact
Assess changes to behavior, concurrency and performance in a traceable way.
  • Approve as a team
Organize review and approval within the development team.
T-SQL training

Write code. Understand the results.

T-SQL is part of the daily work of many SQL Server teams. We start at your experience level, from the fundamentals to advanced queries and stored procedures.

Audience
Developers and users who work with SQL
Format
Remote team training; scope depends on the topic and prior knowledge
Prerequisites
None for the basics; fundamental T-SQL knowledge for the other topics
Discuss T-SQL training
  1. 01

    T-SQL basics

Read queries and write your own: SELECT, filtering and sorting, JOINs, grouping and aggregation, NULL values and data types.

Learning goal: write fundamental queries independently and explain their results.

  2. 02

    Window functions

Rankings, running totals and comparisons with previous rows: OVER, PARTITION BY, LAG and LEAD, window frames and common result pitfalls.

Learning goal: choose the function that fits the business question and check the result.

  3. 03

    Advanced stored procedures

Parameters and interfaces, transactions and error handling, test cases and performance questions when making changes.

Learning goal: review procedures systematically and support changes with tests.

PDD · Performance Driven Development

Performance starts in development.

A fast individual query does not tell you how an application behaves under load. PDD connects technical decisions to measurable goals and ongoing checks in the project.

Audience
Developers, team leads, project managers and product owners
Scope
Three foundation and four advanced modules, four hours each including breaks; materials provided afterward
Prerequisites
T-SQL and database experience for the developer modules; advanced modules build on the foundations
  1. B1

    Workload and physical structures

Consider load, concurrency, storage and execution plans together, and align design decisions with the expected workload.

  2. B2

T-SQL, data types, indexes and plans

Assess data access in the context of its data and structures and justify technical decisions.

  3. PO

Foundation for project managers and product owners

Measurable expectations, technical stories, risks and documentation: performance becomes a tracked requirement.

  4. A1

    Document design decisions

Assess structures and record the basis for decisions so it remains available when changes are made later.

  5. A2

    Risks and concurrency

Consider infrastructure, parallelism and optimistic concurrency together and take them into account in design and tests.

  6. A3

    Test and investigate performance

Performance and optimizer tests with appropriate load and data scenarios; interpret measurements in context.

  7. A4

    Track metrics and actions

Select metrics, document corrective actions and track their effect beyond an individual test.

Choose PDD modules
pdd-module-selection.txtillustrative example
development B1 and B2, then A2 and A3
project leads PO foundation, then A4 with the team
scope 4 hours per module, remote
preparation Clarify experience and project upfront
goal Performance as a tracked requirement
Support and architecture

Substantiate findings. Derive structures.

PTS · Performance Troubleshooting & Support

Interpret performance problems and discuss them on a sound basis.

For administration and support teams who want to clarify findings with developers or software vendors on a reliable basis.

Audience
DBAs, administrators and technical support
Scope
Two modules of four hours each; PDF materials
Prerequisites
SQL Server administration experience and a basic understanding of T-SQL
  1. 01

    Engine, plans and concurrency

SQLOS, storage structures, execution plans, statistics and isolation in context.

  2. 02

Investigation paths and the effect of changes

Common T-SQL problems and investigation paths: separate hypotheses from evidence and check the effect.

Discuss PTS training
RDD · Repository Driven Design

Describe structures once. Derive target structures from them.

Describe business and technical structures declaratively. Appropriate abstraction levels make it possible to maintain recurring tasks in one place.

Audience
Developers and software architects
Scope
Two foundation modules of four hours each; materials provided afterward
Prerequisites
Experience with software development and architecture questions
  1. B1

    Declarative problem solving

Multiple levels of abstraction and architecture patterns: what belongs on a shared description level?

  2. B2

    Target structures and repository levels

Target structures, antipatterns and transitions between levels, so that the abstraction stays manageable.

Whiteboard training & project coaching

The agenda starts with your question.

Some questions do not fit a course syllabus. We work with your team on the situation, explain the connections and discuss a technically justified direction. Your existing service providers can take part.

01

Queries and plan stability

Understand an execution plan, compare calls or prepare an investigation.

02

Development and architecture

Work through scalability, SQL DevOps or a technology decision, also with project managers and product owners.

03

Working together on a project

A second opinion on approach and documentation, next steps and knowledge transfer with your partner.

We agree on the agenda, preparation and scope based on your question. Customer systems and confidential materials are used only within the agreed boundaries. Discuss your coaching question →

Format and process

Agree on the work before we begin.

We have delivered remote T-SQL training for years. Even with established modules, we clarify experience level, goal and time slot in advance.

Date, group size, technical preparation, price and exact scope are agreed individually. We can discuss other delivery formats with you.

  1. 01

    Agree on team and goal

Who is taking part, what tasks are ahead, what knowledge is already there? We use that to choose modules or an individual agenda.

  2. 02

    Explain and apply

Discuss the content and work through it with examples. There is room for your questions; we agree in advance on the use of your own materials.

  3. 03

    Continue the work

Record materials and open questions. In coaching and workshops, the direction for your project is part of this.

Common questions

Before your SQL Server training.

Which SQL Server training is right for our team?

The T-SQL topics cover the fundamentals and specific querying techniques. PDD is for development and project leadership, PTS for administration and support. RDD covers declarative architecture. For a specific question, we choose whiteboard coaching or a workshop.

Is SQL Server training available online?

Yes. We deliver remote team training. We agree on time slots, technical preparation and scope in advance. We can discuss other formats with you.

Can we choose individual modules?

Yes. PDD and RDD are modular. We choose the appropriate content with you and consider the prior knowledge or earlier modules needed.

Can we include our own questions or systems?

Yes, by prior agreement. Whiteboard sessions are particularly suitable for specific architecture, development or performance questions. We agree on the materials and any access needed within the defined scope.

Can we book the agentic AI training yet?

“SQL Server Development with Agentic AI” is in preparation. You can tell us about your interest and use case. The agenda, duration and first dates are still being planned.

How much does training cost, and when does it take place?

Price and timing depend on the modules, duration, preparation and delivery format. We agree on the goal and scope with you, then provide a proposal.
